168-178, I've got 1st run flat(er) tops, and newer super domed ones. I actually like the super domes better.

I throw 168 Northmen and they are Domey. Also for my low line drives I tend to throw with a hyzer flip and when I do they typically flip to flat and then have a soft fade. The higher I throw them the more fade they get.

Also what I really like about this disc it that so far it has replaced both my TD and my XL which is quite impressive to me because of the different uses I had with each of those discs and how the Northmen seems to be those two combined.

I loved my XL for controlled shots through the woods or hyzerflips that would lock on to my target basically a longer Buzzz. The TD I used for long controlled shots that were similar to the XL but longer. The TD is an awesome disc that is definitely versatile and can be used at a lot of different power ranges. The Northman seems to have the best of both worlds I can power down on the disc and throw it very similar to my XL or I can power up on it and get some incredibly long flights that are just lazer straight. If I have a lower ceiling and need to go straight 310+ ft then I grabbing my northman and throwing it with a lil hyzer and good snap and itll just lock into straight (sometimes track slightly left) then glide for days and finish almost straight in front of me.

The Northman can make a great distance driver for lower powered players and a great control/distance driver for higher powered players. Dont get me wrong the Flow and Nuke go farther for me more consistently but at times the Northman is right there with them or just short but I can throw the northman on shorter holes as well without the skip of the Flow/Nuke.
When I'm not itchin for discin, I have the yearnin to get the plastic turnin

Mine were the first ones that came out (with the Pohjan Poika stamp even), 165 (traded away) and 169 (still have this one, and will keep it), both are domey but not redonculously domey like some. They're definitely on the understable side, but terrific fun to hyzerflip.

Damn, you're really out to tempt me I see :-)
I use, and love, xl's and I was wanting to test td's for more distance...

They are really nice drivers. Very long for their speed. I think I can get these out farther than any other disc in their speed range. Their glide is a lot like a Rivers.

So the release date is set for March the first but we have no idea of the availability outside of Finland. Based on what Janne Penttilä told me and the couple of dozen of throws with my IIRC type two proto i wouldn't wonder if the release version would be close to a PD2. Which is great news for those liking Opto type plastic and getting a fastafastfast long disc with a hefty fade that will most likely turn in a headwind but fight back. Or not flip much and come reliably back in calm weather. We'll see if my hunch is right. And naturally for a disc this hefty those above assumptions are for 350'+ of power and rather 400'+.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

Won a free King today, getting it as soon as they're released. Guess I'll have to test drive it then...

Well its been longer than a month and the Northman is still kicking ass. I love this disc and still amazes me pretty damn often at the things it can do. Great disc!

IMO the northman isboth more stable and longer then the TD (I have only thrown the S-TD though).
I am looking foward to the GL like plastic to on the northman that is supposed to come out in May.

Got some good rounds in with these this weekend and I really like this disc. It's not a workhorse disc (which DJ told me) but you can throw some crazy fun lines with this thing. My favorite was big sweeping hyzers with the new one and some really late turning annies with a beat one (thanks booter).
