the gateway blaze is a great wind fighter as well. I use the star fl's in the wind a lot and love them as well as a great flick disc. The banshee is great also.

P.S. if you want to get rid of the fls pm me and I will trade you something for them.

If we're going that fast why not get a C-PD?

The Respecti is a speed 8 the pd is a speed 10. I don't think they are even close speed wise. Although I have never thrown a c-pd

I agree to an extent with this, but there is definitely merit to throwing heavier discs when it is windy just for the simple fact that they are blown around by it less. Heavier discs will keep more forward momentum when thrown into a headwind, whether its more stable or not. The same applies for crosswinds as well; it takes more wind to blow the disc off course compared to a lighter disc.

You basing this on what, Innova and Prodiscus having the exact same rating system? Both have a 1.9cm rim width, and while the RESPECTi has a higher shoulder and an overall deeper profile I wouldn't say it's that much slower than a PD.

I know I can throw my s-pd a lot farther than I can throw my respecti. I treat the pd as a distance driver and the respecti as a fairway driver. Again I haven't thrown the c-pd so I can't compare them.

The CFR C-PD is a fantastic wind fighter, though it's much shorter than my S-PD.

This doesn't really mean the PD is faster. It could also mean the PD is less stable.

people keep saying this without mentioning the fact that the Banshee is an easier to throw predator.

DING DING!

Predator is too much disc for the 300-325-ish power level. Great disc, just needs tons of speed to get going right.

I know. But the respecti may have the same rim width as the pd. But the respecti has a much thicker rim profile than the pd. I throw both the respecti and the s-pd and I wouldn't consider them similar at all. the s-pd will get where it's going much quicker than the respecti does. Once again because I haven't thrown the c-pd I can't comment on the similarities between it and the respecti. My original post was that for a wind fighting disc in the fairway driver speed class the respecti is a fabulous disc. I will stand by that. My only disclaimer being the baseline plastic doesn't appear to take a beating well. I am just hoping the premium disc flies like the baseline disc. If it does this disc will be my fairway driver of choice for windy days. And I think it deserves an honest look for that role.

There have been some huge winds here lately. I was out this morning in winds of 70km/hr gusting up to 140km/hr (45-90 mph). Lots of fun and plenty of excitement!

I rarely use it, but today I was stoked to have my CPD2 in the bag. It drove into the headwind so nicely and definitely got me the most d into the wind. The CFR PD was great as well for when max d wasn't the concern. My aftershock and zone worked great for the short stuff.

I also threw an ultralight polecat a fair bit today and was pretty surprised how great it was with the wind on putts and some decent approaches as well. Longest drive of the day was definitely my GL flow downwind. It got a huge boost of air under it that took it up 20 feet as it started to drop and fade. Was a thing of beauty to watch it just gllllllllide. And my oldest opto fuse was money out there as well.

Saw a street sign blow down off of a meridian on the way home and nearly witnessed a bus lose it on the freeway home.

What about an EXP1? Supposed to be a Banshee-L kind of, right? I'd try that or a lighter Banshee.

z tracker work well in the wind and are as easy to throw as a banshee. I played a round today in 30+ winds and the z tracker worked really well. my demon got alot of use as well. I did try and trow a skip shot with the demon that sipped right where i wanted it to and when it came up off the ground the wind held it and it drop right back to the ground.

I throw the same D as the OP. I throw a flat FR C PD for distance into the wind, a champ Banshee for meathooks into the wind, and Eagle-x's for all other wind duties. There's tons of options out there...keep it simple. Find two or three molds you trust into the wind and stick with them. I suggest keeping your Banshee and picking up EX's. If you need more D, look at something like a flat C PD or something like that.

Oh, and give your Banshee some time. Mine is starting to show some wear after hitting tons of trees and rocks (and asphalt...oops) and is STILL a meathook, but just more workable.
