Barton starts his throw with a leading step but the last 3 steps are a traditional X-step.
This is at the beginning of his X-step and his footwork is very light as he gets his momentum moving forward.
Barton keeps his momentum moving forward through the cross-step as his hips and shoulders rotate closed.
At Barton's point of maximum reach back, his hips are rotated closed and his back is facing the target. His weight is over his back foot and he is ready to push off into his plant/pivot. While his arm does not fully extend, his elbow reaches its maximum back position.
Barton has planted his foot ~90 degrees from the target onto a bent knee and his hips are beginning to rotate open. This is as the beginning of his pull and the disc is close to his chest and his off arm is near his body.
This is right before the hit. Barton's hips have exploded open and rotated his shoulders, whipping his arm through. His weight is over his pivot foot as his elbow is in the process of extending and his foot is beginning its pivot.
Immediately after the hit, Barton's hips and shoulders are now fully open. His elbow is fully extended and his arm is entering the follow-through.
Barton's follow-through is strong and his upper body is still moving. His back leg has lifted off the ground and his off arm is now off his body to aid in slowing down his rotation.
Barton has stepped through the pivot to relieve stress on the knee as his momentum continues forward.
