Smoother colors for dyeing discs:
I have found that while using Acetone from either a home improvement store, or a beauty supply store achieves a great solid color, using 100% rubbing alcohol, a.k.a. 100% isopropyl alcohol creates a brighter color that applies smoother and has none of the grain that can form from using the acetone as it starts to evaporate. Just apply with a paint brush. The more layers you apply the brighter the dye job. This works great for dyes that would benefit from different degrees of color brightness.
